The Thirteenth Annual Elementary Grades Math Contest (ELMACON) will  be held on the UBC and UVIC campuses on Saturday, April 30, 2011.
This contest – open to students Grades 5 to 7 — gives elementary school students an opportunity to experience mathematics as an exciting sport. Winners are determined right on the spot – after three problem solving rounds.   Even for those who do not make it to the top it is instructive, inspiring and entertaining.

THEY ALSO HAVE GREAT PRIZES: iPods, cameras, movie tickets, t-shirts and more.

The event is organized by the Pacific Institute for the Mathematical
Sciences (PIMS).
