The First Day back of the traditional school year is this Monday, September 3rd.  Students in the traditional classes convene at 9:00 a.m. for a whole-school assembly in the gym and to find out their classroom placements.

Garibaldi Home Learners’ families wishing to connect or re-connect are also welcome to join the assembly in the gym, and, weather permitting, enjoy time together in the school garden and/or playground afterward.  Juliana and Shannon will be at the assembly to greet and meet students and families, but will not be available to meet with students and families or to open the Home Learners’ classroom following the assembly, as staff have meetings scheduled for the remainder of the day.

For Home Learners’, the month of September consists of planning, preparing and completing individual Student Learning Plans with Teachers, and starting their own home learning.  As of today’s posting, programming is scheduled to start on Monday, September 3oth, 2013.    

To that end, please  look at the calendar on the left column of this site (or click onto the calendar page) to view available times for meetings.  Please email us using the “contact the teacher” form on this blog, with your 1st and 2nd choice of Student Learning Plan meeting times.  We will do our best to book people into their requested meeting times on a first come, first served basis, and will email confirmation to you once we have booked your meeting.

The Home Learners classroom is  the room adjacent to the gym.  The Teacher’s offices are in room 104, downstairs, which is where we will be holding all our Student Learning Plan meetings.

Families who have yet to register, please do so with the office, not with the teachers. Once your registration is complete, the office will forward us your information and one of the teachers will contact you to book an appointment to meet.
