Intermediate Field Trip: Medicine Walk with Musqueam Elder

Intermediate students and up to 5 parents are invited to our field trip on Thursday, April 16th at 2:00 p.m. for a medicine walk in the Indigenous Health Research & Education Garden at UBC Farm.  This session involves ceremony, orientation to the territory and place, a guided walk through the IHREG and other spaces at UBC Farm to share teachings about different medicinal plants, harvesting of some medicines to take home, and space for a debrief and questions. This is an incredible opportunity to learn about plant medicine and culturally-relevant land-based learning.

The sign-up sheet and field trip forms are on the parents’ table.

We will dismiss students after lunch, at 1:00 p.m. from the classroom.  All students need to come to the classroom after lunch before leaving with a parent to the field trip. This will allow for driving time, parking and getting everyone there for the 2:00 p.m. start.  The meeting place will be the UBC Farm Yurt, 3461  Ross Drive.  This is a free field trip.  The Medicine Walk ends at 3:30 p.m.
