The Get to Know Program is a non-profit organization connecting youth with the environment through the expressive arts.  For the past 15 years, they have run the Get to Know Contest, a free arts contest inviting all youth in Vancouver under 19 to get outdoors and create art!

The Get to Know Contest has great appeal to students because their artwork can be inspired by nature. They also provide an Art in the Park guide with easy, quick activities to make contest-eligible art that also ties in to the school curriculum.

Youth are invited to get outdoors and connect with nature through art, writing, photography, video, and music. They break the mold of traditional contests by recognizing and celebrating all participants as winners. Their goal is simple: to get youth outdoors to develop a personal connection with the environment.
