I learned about a great book recommendation site this morning entitled A Book and a Hug.  Hosted by an independent children’s book seller who is clearly passionate about children’s books, the site contains reviews of over 6,000 children and youth books.  Visitors to the site can search for books by reading level, genre, setting, age of the reader or keywords.  You will also notice that searching by “boy” or “girl” books is offered – something I personally don’t like, but the ability to search by age or reading level solves that issue nicely.  Children are also encouraged to send in their own book reviews and to create lists of their favorite books on this site also, without having to share personal information or email addresses.
