Programs & Schedule

We are currently working on finalizing both the program descriptions and the Term 1 schedule to provide to families as quickly as possible. In the meantime, as each program description is finalized, we will post it on this blog for you. Programs for this term include Writers Workshop, Math Manipulatives, Amazing Africa, Poems & Songs, Gym, Robotics and Science.  Choices, Library and Show & Tell will also be included in the weekly schedule.

We are happy to announce that we will be able to start programming on Tuesday, September 27th – a week earlier than anticipated!  Many thanks to all our families for booking your appointments and coming in early so we can get to an earlier start for the students!  All programming will start at 9:30 a.m. and end at 3:00 p.m.

Also – the Ugandan Villages and other projects that students are bringing in are fabulous!   It really looks and feels like Africa more and more each day!  Keep bringing them in, everyone!

Program Description:

Math Manipulatives

In this fun, hands-on program students will learn how much fun math really can be by making and using their very own math manipulatives to take home.  While making each manipulative, students will get to roll up their sleeves and hammer, paint, glue and create, all the while learning about the skills and concepts the item they are making is used for.  Upon completion of each project, students will be able to play and practice – making math learning meaningful and fun for each child!  Projects will include Petal Counters, Concept Gloves, pegboards, geoboards, zip to skip number lines, multiplications wheels, etc.
